Dinosaur National Monument on home

Continued our trip from Salt Lake City, Utah over to Vernal, Utah.   Went to Dinosaur National Monument and looked at old bones (not our own).  It was really starting to warm up a lot.   Miss the nice cool weather of Alaska.

We really are science nerds.   Oh well, we enjoy exploring, even if it is things from the past.   After Dinosaur National Monument we headed south into Colorado.  Stayed in Grand Junction, Colorado for several days.

Drove through Colorado National Monument on some pretty narrow roads.   The landscape there is amazing.   Beautiful water and wind cut formations.

Reminds me of Monument Valley

Interesting animals right by the side of the road

Also went out to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.   David was able to buy his SENIOR pass to get into the parks.   What a deal;  $10 for lifetime.   Can't beat that.

Spectacular Cliffs

Quite a drop
From Grand Junction we continued south towards Albuquerque, New Mexico.   The road towards Durango is called the Million Dollar Highway.   Well, they can keep their million dollars and just put some @*#$ GUARD RAILS up.   Talk about driving on the edge.   I don't remember too much about the road because I really wasn't watching too closely.   Just hoping to get off that road safely.

Got into Albuquerque, had some great Mexican food and prepared to head for home.   Made a brief stop in Roswell, New Mexico.   No, the aliens did not take me.   Believe me, they would have returned me quickly.

Whoohoo.....Finally got back into the great state of Texas on August 2.

Stopped overnight in Brownwood and then on home to Texas City on the 3rd.   We felt we needed to get on home because we found out that my son-in-law's father was killed in a motorcycle accident in Mexico.   Stephen headed to Mexico and we headed home to see if Rachel needed us.

110 DAYS....18,141 MILES and so many memories.    Thanks to all who traveled with us and enoyed the blog.   I really loved doing it.   Made me feel like I was still in touch with family and friends.   Don't know where we are headed next in the trailer.   We have a trip planned in October with Dana and Mike Sykes.   Will be taking a cruise then.   Until next time....love to all; Felicia and David (aka Nana and Papa)
