Bay of Fundy to Fall Foliage

Staying up in Nova Scotia wasn't hard to do.  So beautiful.  We wanted to stay around long enough to get to see the tidal change in the Bay of Fundy.  The end of the month was to bring a super high/low tide change because of the supermoon.  The difference was 48.2 feet from low tide at 7:25 a.m. to high tide at 2:25 p.m.  It was a very drastic change to see.

While we were waiting on the tidal change, we explored the area some.  Went to the Fundy Geological Museum in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia...pretty interesting place.  Well presented information.

Gotta love a good dinosaur display
It finally became time to leave Canada.  We had been there almost a month.  So we packed up the trailer and headed south towards Vermont and New York.  Stayed in Vermont only one night, but it was interesting.  We saw a beautiful wild river, went to Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory, saw some gorgeous fall color, went by the VonTrapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont and took the most hair raising ferry ride ever across Lake Champagne to New York.

Arrived in the Adirondack region of New York and found a nice campground in Wilmington, NY near Lake Placid.  My cousin, Margaret wanted to get together with some friends from her days of working with the Olympic Luge Team.  Such nice people.  Got to meet Mark Grimmett who was a Silver and Bronze Medalist in the '98 Nogano and  2002 Salt Lake City games.  He took us on a tour of the Olympic facilities in Lake Placid, especially the luge/bobsled site.

Even got to hold one of his medals :)

The highlight of our visit to Lake Placid was for David and I to be able to get together with our Thomas Jefferson High School dear friend, Linda Davis Fitzpatrick.  We got together several times with her and her husband, Charlie.  Had a special evening with them at their beautiful home in the woods overlooking their own lake.  Such a wonderful evening.  It was so great to get together and just visit, visit, visit.  We have been here 5 days and could stay even longer.
