Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park

Spent 2 wonderful days exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.  What a beautiful, picturesque area.  The coastline is magnificent.  Sorry the pictures are a little hazy, the sun was shining.   Just a hazy day.

Beautiful coastline

Thunder Hole in Acadia National Park
We drove the scenic loop and listened to a CD that explained all the stops and what we were seeing. Thanks Martha Weatherford for loaning us the CD.  We set out around 9:00 a.m. and finally got back to the trailer around 5:00 p.m.  What a day...exploring, taking pictures, hiking and having a wonderful picnic lunch among the aspen and hemlocks.
Islands off the coastline

Egg Rock Lighthouse - David LOVES lighthouses
Bubbles trail to Balanced Rock

The picture on the hiking trail was taken before I had to call it quits. David and Margaret carried on all the way to the end.  Just too rough for my poor knee.
Balanced Rock
We continued our exploring all the way to the top of Cadillac Mountain.   The highest peak on the eastern coast.   Not too tall, but the view was impressive.  Again, sorry it was a hazy day. Pictures are not the best.

We of course also did some shopping...retail therapy was needed.  David had to drive up to Ellsworth on Tuesday to get the oil changed in the truck and pick up some much needed dog food before heading into Canada.

Will be going into Canada tomorrow, so it may be a while before I can do another blog entry. Don't know what kind of internet service we will have.  So...until next time, enjoy the blog.
